My Background and Approach
I prioritize creating a curated experience that is tailor made specific to you and your goals. While I pull from ACT, IFS, and DBT, I use a wide-range of tools to support you & your needs in any given moment. As an ally & trained Trauma-Informed LGBTQ+ affirming counselor, know that I prioritize placing you and your unique experiences at the core of our work together. Together, we will get a holistic picture of how your experiences, as well as the systems in our communities, culture, and government, impact your health. The responsibilities of our day to day lives are stressful & challenging enough; you deserve the ability to carry yourself with grace & respect as you move towards sustainable, meaningful change.
Why I Became a Therapist
I believe that we become the people that we needed most during the most important times of our lives. I became a therapist, like so many others, because of my own mental health journey and personal experiences in counseling. When we are struggling, we can find ourselves feeling as though there is no place to turn. I want nothing more than to support you in transforming that anxious thought, bad memory, or numbness into assuredness, hope, and self-compassion.
