About My Clients
My approach is highly influenced by intersectional feminism and I utilize an anti-oppression framework. I have intensive experience treating eating disorders. I also offer services to those with more generalized concerns related to transitions and mood and anxiety disorders.
My Background and Approach
I completed my graduate practicum at a partial hospitalization program for perinatal support and bonding, conducting group and individual therapy with women and families undergoing treatment for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I have worked in reproductive settings including family planning and abortion care in a counseling context and have extensive experience in pregnancy decision-making and support. Much of my clinical work since graduation has been in the context of adoption, providing counseling services and support to all members of the adoption triad. I have intensive experience treating eating disorders. In these settings I've received training in many evidence-based treatments including CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and work with many clients who have been through trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the LGBTQIA community and strongly believe in a "person-in-environment" perspective, meaning we do not exist in a vacuum, and are influenced by our family, community, and society as a whole, so I take an intersectional approach in my therapy.
