About My Clients
My specialties include working with undergraduate to PhD students from domestic and international backgrounds, individuals with early relational trauma, identity struggles, family of origin problems, relationship problems, life transitions/acculturation issues, and stress in high-pressure environments. In therapy, I foster an empathetic and warm relationship with you to help you gain insights about your problems, facilitate positive change in life, and help you better achieve your goals.
My Background and Approach
I received my M.S. in Social Work Advanced Clinical Practices from Columbia University and my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. In recent years, I have focused on providing psychological services in local college counseling centers (UCI, Cal State Fullerton, and Saddleback College).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Creating a warm and empathetic environment is at the heart of my practice. I believe that a trusting, supportive relationship is foundational to healing, and I strive to understand my clients within the context of their unique cultural and personal experiences. In our sessions, I help clients reflect on their early experiences and how these have shaped their sense of self and relationships. My goal is to support you in understanding what triggers your emotional distress, build emotional strength, and develop healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges. Clients have told me that my approach helps them connect more deeply with themselves and feel empowered to embrace positive change. As a bilingual provider fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, I am especially sensitive to how cultural backgrounds and marginalized identities impact our experiences.
