About My Clients
I take a collaborative and supportive stance in my approach to therapy and my patients tell me that I am comfortable to be with and easy to talk to. I continuously read related literature, keep myself up to date with the ethical and legal guidelines in the field, and the latest research, and attend conferences and trainings.
My Background and Approach
Currently I am a Bilingual (Spanish) mental health clinician in a detention center working with young immigrants. Before that, I served as MST (Multisystemic) therapist in the community that dealt with juveniles with serious criminal offenses and are possibly abusing substances. I am experienced with the emotional problems that occur in adults, adolescents and children. I have specialized training with family therapy, trauma of all types (including domestic violence, sexual abuse and assault and victims of crime), depression and anxiety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in providing goal-directed treatment. This means that a goal or several goals are established after a thorough assessment. All treatment is then planned with the goal in mind and progress is made toward the goal in a time-efficient manner.
