About My Clients
I often hear clients say “I am intelligent and hard working! How come emotions and relationships are so difficult for me to deal with?” Much stress, anxiety, depression stems from unattended trauma & grief. You may have lost a loved one, a relationship or a sense of yourself as you move through the cycles of life and modern-day stress. I help people discover ways to release physical and emotional tension. Together we will attend to your questions like "Who am I? Who do I want to become?"
My Background and Approach
Our modern world is full of stressors that put us under pressure that make it hard to find balance. I work with clients to weave together the frayed fabric of their lives, strengthen the innate forces that build secure attachment and resilient relationships. My professional background ranges from working with pre and perinatal women, addiction, eating disorders, long term mental illness, and relationship strife. I have expertise in ecopsychology, embodiment and mindfulness practices, play therapy, attachment based family systems, and turning the ordinary into a journey of growth. I have the tools to guide you and your family to play, imagine and create your way to wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a dancer, singer, songwriter and guitarist and believe that the body and voice are the central element to both my healing and creative processes. In my undergraduate years I studied music performance, voice and songwriting. I have lived on 3 different continents in many different cultures. I believe citizens of the world have a right and responsibility to share in healing the earth and one another. Somatic psychotherapy has been a part of my personal healing and professional life for 20 years. I opened the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy Milwaukee in 2022 with the vision of establishing a hub for the expansion of the practice in the Midwest and sharing my passion for these modalities with other therapists.
