About My Clients
This is my second career. I have sat on both sides of the chairs–As a client and as a therapist. After experiencing personal crisis in my early thirties, my own healing journey led me to this work. My lived experiences as an international student/immigrant, an employee of big corporations, a divorcee, a mother/wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend enable me to relate to your realities and struggles.
My Background and Approach
I believe that each of us was born whole and inherently good, as is. When we struggle, there is nothing broken or insufficient about us. Complex external factors such as family origins, upbringing, culture, environment, circumstances, society, and community mold us into who we are now. As we navigate our lives, pieces of our authentic selves might become buried. We may develop coping/defense mechanisms to protect ourselves. We may even lose touch with our true feelings and emotions, get stuck, feel trapped, or hit a wall. When this happens, we might feel disconnected, isolated, or alone. The good news is that we can move through these challenges with the right support. I hope that through our therapeutic collaboration and relationship, you would start to explore the question of “What happened to me?”. Transformation begins once you feel "felt" and seen. My approach is relational and culturally sensitive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I am honored to be here to listen to you and see you for who you are, without judgement. I believe that humans have universal needs to be heard, understood, and accepted. Life can be tough and uncertain, but each of us possess the inner strength and wisdom to face and solve whatever “problems” we might face. As your therapist, I will stand alongside you as you discover the one-of-a-kind YOU.
