About My Clients
Do you feel that everyone is moving on and you're still stuck? You try to start a new routine but continue to revert to the old one. I know this feeling; you don't know what else to try to make things better and feel like this is just how your life is going to be. My goal is to help you gain insight, effective coping skills, and have tools that support you through difficult situations with a different perspective to create lasting change.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specialized in trauma-informed care. I worked in the mental health setting for over 5 years and witnessed many success stories. I take a person-centered approach while also keeping in mind systems and resources. I've worked with individuals with adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and anticipatory grief. I believe that therapy should be a safe, collaborative, and respectful space. My approach focuses on truly listening and understanding your unique experiences. Together, we will explore what you’re going through and develop a treatment approach that fits your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply passionate about this work because I have personally seen the transformative power of therapy. After high school, I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks. I started psychotropic medication and was on it for over 10 years but it wasn't until I actually started therapy that I really started feeling better. Therapy helped me get the weight off my shoulders and helped me feel safe again. Once, I was safe, my body was able to let go and start responding to non-threatening situations appropriately. The stigma behind mental health deters many from seeking therapy sooner and it is my goal to help others feel comfortable about starting therapy, because it really makes all the difference. Music is my first love and helped me feel emotions that I did not know I had to process. Going to concerts is one of my favorite things to do. Something about everyone being all together like sardines singing their hearts out reminds me that we are all the same and we all feel.
