About My Clients
In my practice I work primarily with couples experiencing relationship challenges and parents experiencing difficulties with their children. I try to help all my clients develop a better understanding of the current functioning of their relationships, and work to understand their own role within that system.
My Background and Approach
I have a master's degree in social work from Long Island University. My experience includes extensive work in an outpatient mental health clinic servicing a low income population. I've been privileged to work with many clients of many different backgrounds and ethnicities, and have been able to successfully help many people face and overcome their various challenges. I use an open ear and mind to try to truly understand and connect with my clients, helping them to grow beyond their struggles in a healthy way. I'm trained in EFT, one of the primary modalities used when working with couples, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and various trauma focused modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong believer in the idea that people need to understand themselves truthfully in order to be able to participate in the world around them fully. This applies to everyone, regardless of age. It applies most strongly to how people function in relationships, whether with friends, coworkers, spouses, or children.
