About My Clients
I work with adult populations, including working professionals, and individuals who identify as queer, people of color, and immigrants. I work with clients on a variety of topics, such as anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, infidelity, racism, and life transitions. I work with clients from historically marginalized communities, helping them navigate everyday stressors of life and systemic stressors stemming from societal inequities.
My Background and Approach
I embrace a holistic and integrative therapeutic approach that allows I to craft a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. I believe that each person is shaped by their background, culture, identity, values, and relationships. I work with clients to explore emotions, foster insight and self-awareness, and achieve personal growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a bicultural counselor, carrying a perspective that aids clients in navigating diverse spaces while integrating cross-cultural values. As a first-generation Chinese American, I have an intimate understanding of cultural assimilation, identity development, and life transitions. My approach is centered around collaborating with clients to reclaim a sense of agency and control, particularly during times of uncertainty. I am also a first-generation college student for both undergraduate and graduate education. This aspect of I identity provided valuable insights into managing academic and professional settings while overcoming Imposter syndrome.
