About My Clients
Yara has experience working with college-aged individuals and adults (18+), offering thoughtful support through life transitions, relationship challenges, and the complexities of intersecting identities. Deeply committed to serving BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and other individuals from the global majority, Yara is passionate about providing inclusive, affirming, and trauma-informed care to all.
My Background and Approach
Yara's work centers those navigating depression, anxiety, internalized critical dialogue, self-esteem/self-worth concerns, gender and sexuality exploration, relational and family dynamics, attachment concerns, and trauma-related concerns. Yara affirms multi-amorous relationships and takes a sex-positive approach, supporting individuals in kink/BDSM communities with understanding and respect. With a warm, empathetic, and authentic presence, Yara meets each person where they are. Their therapeutic style is integrative and eclectic, combining strengths-based and person-centered approaches with techniques from CBT (REBT), existential therapy, and solution-focused work. Yara’s priority is to foster a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Outside of the counseling space, Yara finds joy in creative expression—whether through visual arts, playing music (they play three instruments), or immersing themselves in video games. They cherish time with loved ones and feel most fulfilled in community-oriented spaces where connection and shared experiences flourish.
