About My Clients

I see psychiatry as both care and advocacy—being present with people in their most vulnerable moments and honoring their stories with respect and compassion. I believe healing happens not through quick fixes, but through being truly seen, heard, and understood. I view each person as a whole, complex individual shaped by culture, history, and inner experience

My Background and Approach

What drew me to psychiatric nursing was my own journey through suffering and healing, which sparked a deep motivation to help others find hope and recovery. As someone who grew up in China and immigrated to the U.S., I carry a strong sense of empathy shaped by reflection on my personal and cultural experiences. I initially aspired to become a lawyer to protect the vulnerable through justice, but I came to see psychiatric care as a more intimate and transformative way to help people heal. I view nursing as both a form of care and a form of advocacy—being present with patients in their most vulnerable moments while also challenging systems that overlook or harm them. To me, nursing is not about fixing people, but about walking alongside them—bearing witness to their pain, fostering understanding, and nurturing the inner work that leads to true healing. I find joy and meaning in listening to people’s stories and honoring the depth of their human experience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

To me, mental health healing is the process of reclaiming one’s sense of self, meaning, and connection. It’s not simply the absence of symptoms, but the presence of self-understanding, inner peace, and the ability to move through life with authenticity. With my doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, I bring a deep understanding of human behavior, evidence-based strategies, and a therapy-informed perspective to support this process. My approach combines compassionate listening with practical tools, helping clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your story, gain insight, and move toward healing that feels authentic, sustainable, and personally meaningful. I work collaboratively with children, teens, and adults to support growth, resilience, and well-being.
