About My Clients
Many of the people I support have built meaningful lives and relationships, yet despite their best efforts, something still isn't working. Some may be exhausted from constantly being “on” and carrying so much alone. In relationships, it can feel difficult to receive love, trust themselves, or feel truly understood. They may grapple with fear or find that rest is out of reach. Many want more than symptom relief; they want to enjoy the life and relationships they've worked so hard to build.
My Background and Approach
As a Black, Indigenous, Afro-Latina, Caribbean-born queer therapist, I understand how culture, identity, and systems impact our experiences of wounding and healing. I believe healing happens through relationship, with ourselves, our bodies, our partners, and our communities. When we turn towards our experiences with curiosity and compassion, we strengthen our sense of safety with self and others. Over time, this allows us to become more of ourselves. My approach is informed by Gestalt therapy, liberation psychology, somatic practices, parts work and spirituality. Therapy with me is a compassionate and collaborative partnership. We slow down together and notice what thoughts, feelings or sensations are most present for you. We consider how systems, identities, lineages and communities shape our lived experiences. We gently move away from the need to perform and toward self-attunement and stronger, more satisfying relationships with ourselves, our beloveds and our community.
