About My Clients
I help people who feel overwhelmed, alone, and anxious learn to respond safely to powerful emotions and find joy in everyday life. I help people in times of transition and self-discovery learn to find confidence and clarity in their decisions and actions. I help people having difficulty regulating their moods learn to react in ways which bring them closer to those they care about. I really love working with adolescents and young adults. My Background and Approach
My journey to becoming a therapist started when I was on the other side of the couch as a teen battling anxiety. I got treatment that changed my life. I am here to do the same. My approach is based on my belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship - it’s the most important part of what we do in here. My career focus and specialized training has prepared me to work with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and self-destructive behavior. If you want the fancy clinical terms, this means I use EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and attachment theories to guide what I do. Clients describe me as energetic, warm, positive, and non-judgemental. My style is often labeled as gentle and client led. I have a heart for advocacy and am comfortable coordinating with other providers, educational systems, employers, or government agencies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself a part of a new wave of modern therapists. People who are humans first and therapists second. I promise not to stare awkwardly or turn the question around when you ask me how my weekend was, or where I am going on vacation. I get it, you are a real person looking for real connection. Just because our relationship is therapeutic in nature does not mean it can’t be authentic. Come sit. We can work together on whatever brings you in.
