About My Clients
You may keep ending up in the same kinds of relationships or putting other people’s needs ahead of your own. Perhaps you find it difficult to set a boundary, trust your judgment or understand why certain situations affect you so deeply. Experiences from the past may still shape what feels normal, including patterns that leave you hurt or exhausted. We can understand where these patterns came from and find a different way forward. To work with me, book a first session through my website.
My Background and Approach
I work with adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and difficult family or relationship dynamics. My style is warm, nurturing and thoughtful. I want therapy to feel like somewhere you can talk openly, including about choices or relationships you may worry other people will judge. I use Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, ACT and attachment-based therapy. We may look at how past experiences are showing up in your life now, notice what happens when you try to set a boundary or work on ways to manage emotions that feel difficult to handle. I’ll help you understand your patterns without blaming yourself for developing them, while gently encouraging you to try something different. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to change. We can start with what has been happening and work it out together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we often repeat patterns because they became familiar to us, not because there is something wrong with us. What feels normal isn’t always what is healthy, especially when your understanding of relationships was shaped by difficult experiences in the past. I also believe self-compassion and accountability can exist together. Understanding why you learned to put other people first doesn’t mean you have to continue doing it. Therapy can give you room to be kinder to yourself while learning to make choices that protect your needs too.
