About My Clients
Perhaps you've tried to fix this on your own, feeling ashamed it hasn't worked. Whether it's anxiety that won't loosen its grip, thoughts you can't shake, seasons of depression, or the sense that you're just surviving instead of living—some things aren't meant to be fixed alone. My clients perform "fine" while falling apart inside. Some carry old wounds—even from faith communities meant to help. Others are asking what their life is for. Whatever it is, you don't have to figure this out alone.
My Background and Approach
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years as a software engineer—developing clinical applications at a healthcare startup, and developer tools used by millions. This background shapes how I think: I'm analytical, I care about what actually works, and I believe in using the right tool for the job. That same philosophy carries into the therapy room. I draw from evidence-based methods—cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, exposure and response prevention, existential therapy, and more—and tailor the work to your goals and what brings you to therapy. Whether you're navigating anxiety, OCD, old wounds, or questions about meaning and purpose, I'm here to meet you where you are. I hold an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Truman State University. I'm a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor—Missouri's license for counselors in active clinical supervision—and am EMDR trained. I see clients in Springfield and via telehealth statewide.
