About My Clients
My clients mostly come from life experience of trouble with addictions, relationship issues, self esteem, self identity, and question of "what's it all about!" They are straight and queer, all races and cultures. They are seekers who need a safe place to gently explore avenues for growth and healing. They all have tried "solutions" to their pain and have come up unsatisfied. We all must go through that. They come for an atmosphere of safety where they may take steps that are new and scary.
My Background and Approach
Like others I come from a background of certain beliefs and values and have needed to look at them to see whether they work for me or not, I have needed to throw out some and to personally embrace others. "To thine own self be true" is a life affirming goal. Sessions are discussions between the client and me, leading to greater clarification of what seems to be the problem and what might lead to greater peace and happiness. My job is to help the client fine their own inner voice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all belong together, that we all have the right to respect and inclusion, that we all deserve to be happy, that we all deserve to see and to own that we indeed are worthy of love. The more diversity I experience the more I am fed and thrive. Everyone I meet has something to teach me, and I am thankful for all who have been my teachers. I am thankful for all the experiences, easy and difficult, seemingly good and bad, that have led me to where I am in my journey today. Personally I am an out gay man in long term recovery.
