About My Clients
My clients usually have some pain that’s gotten stuck over the course of their lives. The work varies with the individual, but it generally proceeds by entering into relationship and increasingly coming to relate to oneself with the same kind of loving kindness that one experiences in session.
My Background and Approach
My name is Bill Arnold and I use he/him pronouns. My master’s degree is in Social Work. Before I fully transitioned to mental health and trauma coaching my career as a helping professional revolved around sexual and intimate partner violence (both victim services and offender treatment). In my free time I enjoy cultivating various movement practices and studying Daoism, Buddhism, and Advaita Vedanta.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The core values of my practice are anti-psychiatry and financial accessibility. I do not experience my clients to be “sick” or “diseased,” nor in need of a “cure.” Our work together does not create a medical record and my services are not billable to insurance. I use a sliding scale to determine fees. It’s based entirely on what the people I work with feel like they can afford to pay. Everyone begins with a free introductory session, which usually lasts for at least an hour.
