Accepting Clients

My work starts by respecting the strength, hope, and vulnerability involved in seeking counseling.

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Winston-Salem, NC

About My Clients

I am especially attuned to adults of queer, trans, and nonbinary experience and individuals in larger bodies. I prioritize awareness and humility for the way systems of oppression impact the lives of people of color and folks with other marginalized identities. I am also working toward a specialty in addictions counseling and hold space for folks who are working on their relationships to substances or processes, and/or who are in recovery.

My Background and Approach

As a counselor, I am warm and collaborative. I use a gentle, person-centered approach to meet you where you are and to hold space for your experiences. Together, we will explore your strengths as well as your challenges to develop resources for your healing. I began my professional career in higher education as an educator and supporter. My specialties in education were supporting first generation college students, students with disabilities, and students facing academic probation and suspension. While I loved my work in education, I realized that caring for the person and their healing outside of the academic world matters most to me so I changed paths. Because of my lived experiences, I understand the importance of safety, empowerment, and working together in the counseling space. I practice from the belief that everyone deserves dignity and respect, no matter where life has taken them.
