I can tell you countless stories of hurting professionals and parents who have found relief form anxiety with just a few sessions. Through weekly therapy, you can take control of your anxiety.
My Background and Approach
Most of my expertise comes from personal experience. Through years of working with clients and doing my own work, I have learned the best ways to identify and change negative thought patterns causing much anxiety in your life. I use a variety of treatment methods in my work with clients, but my favorite go to treatment models are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, Psychodynamic, as well as Dream Work. I have found that it is often through the therapeutic relationship that clients find healing. I believe in the importance of having an authentic relationship with one's therapist so that clients can know and understand how to have better relationships outside the therapy room. I also pull from Family of Origin and childhood to understand one's current relationship struggles. Through our work together, you will learn what you do and don't want in life as well as have a guide to help you reach your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist and Christian, I believe it is vital that we speak for those who are marginalized and hurting. Growing up in the South, I have found my own biases and preconceived notions causing pain and suffering on others. I am doing my work to recognize this in myself. I am making apologizes as I have lived a priveledged life which often was not to the benefit of others. As a heterosexual white woman, I know that I am narrow minded. Though I have done my own work and research, I have found my clients to be my greatest teachers. They have taught me about cultural needs as I have listened to them share about their lives and experiences. I am grateful they have accepted me enough to teach me these importance principles. Through listening to others, we grow together. Though I do not know it all, I bring love and acceptance to the table as I work together with clients to meet their goals.
