About My Clients

Your life just isn’t what you expected—it seems out of your control. You’re doing so much and it’s still not enough. You should be more accomplished and feel more fulfilled, but instead, you’re struggling to find your place in the world. It seems like other people don’t get it, and you find yourself in repeated conflict with the ones you care about most. You can imagine how it could be different sometimes, but your self-critic is working on overdrive to stir up worries. And you're tired of it.

My Background and Approach

I like to take a holistic and pragmatic approach to our work together, showing up authentically and bringing a sense of levity and humor. I incorporate strategies from a variety of modalities and theories as they suit you, your goals, and your style. You know you best, and I like to lean on that! I focus on your strengths and am trauma-informed, drawing from SFBT, CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS (enough with the acronyms!) and adding in some mindfulness and somatic strategies, as well.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all capable of growth and change and that by bringing together all the threads of our life narratives, we can live fully--embodied and fulfilled. I also believe that mental health challenges are rooted in behaviors we’ve learned, observed, or experienced and manifest in patterns that aren’t serving us so well in the present. In this case, I think that we can recognize what isn’t working and learn to change patterns that aren’t supporting our thriving. It's not a comfortable or easy process, but I’m here to walk alongside you through it. Beyond my work, I am an avid outdoorswoman and hope to someday incorporate my passions for wild spaces, animals, yoga, and dance into my therapeutic work. I strive to recognize why I see the world the way I do and recognize the ways I contribute to oppression and exclusion in this society. I work hard to be an inclusive practitioner, and while you shouldn't have to teach me, I want to learn from and with you if you're willing.
