About My Clients

My goal for your counseling experience is a collaborative, empathetic & safe space for healing & growth. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, grief, loss, relational conflict & life transitions. I have expertise in helping adult individuals, couples & families who are experiencing disconnection & communication difficulties in their relationships. Many clients want to incorporate their faith or spirituality into their therapy; Christian Counseling is one of my specialties.

My Background and Approach

I completed my Master's in 2005 & have worked at an outpatient community mental health center, a group home for teenage girls & in private practice. I have completed training in Gottman counseling for couples, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy & Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I am a Level 1 Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider. It’s important to me that you feel seen, deeply heard & understood. From that place, we can move together towards the healing, growth & change you desire. You do not have to walk through hard seasons alone. I counsel some clients short term; others choose to work longer term. Ultimately my clients set the pace & duration of their therapy. I’m deeply honored to walk alongside my clients. My counseling philosophy rests on the principle that each individual & relationship is unique. The fit between therapist & client is very important to the process of therapy; we’ll ensure it’s a good fit before moving forward together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I offer my education & experience in the integration of psychology and theology for people who desire to integrate faith into their counseling. While my Christian beliefs influence the way I understand pain & healing, I see clients from all backgrounds & respect the views of each individual client. Spirituality is not automatically incorporated into therapy; clients choose whether or not it is integrated & I respect the choice of each client. I deeply value connection; I want each individual to experience love, care & support within themselves as well as between themselves & others. From that place of connection, growth & healing come easier. Unhealthy patterns & unmet needs lead to stuck cycles. Counseling provides a therapeutic relationship to explore & practice new patterns that can be translated to daily living & relationships. Strengthening attachment bonds through counseling enhances emotional regulation, mental flexibility, self-perception, and responsiveness to others.
