About My Clients
I work with teens (13+) and adults who are navigating the many difficulties of life. The populations and issues that I best serve include the LGBTQ+, immigrant and first-generation families, anxiety and panic attacks, relationship issues, burnout, grief/loss, and depression.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Gender/Feminist Studies and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Somatic Psychotherapy. I am a relational and client-centered therapist who utilizes varying theories and modalities including somatic, relational psychodynamic, CBT, and family systems. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to stay curious and compassionate as I witness, listen, and explore alongside you. We will work together to create a treatment plan that aligns with your short-term and long-term goals, using your strengths and resources as a foundation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Someone who identifies within the LGTBQ+ community often deals with issues that are underrepresented in medicine, therapy, and wellness. As a gay woman, my experiences, values, and identity allow me insight into a queer client's lived experience. I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore issues around gender expression, sexuality, transitioning, dating, and coming out. I believe in therapy. In going through my own therapy and being a therapist to others, I have witnessed meaningful and lasting change. My special interests in neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatic approaches give me a strong foundation in how the body and mind are connected, and I believe this is where true healing occurs.
