About My Clients
My name is Whitney and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over ten years experience in mental health counseling as well as crisis intervention, group therapy and intensive mental health treatment experience. I specialize in empowering individuals that may be struggling with depression, anxiety, past trauma, self-confidence, or relationship issues.
My Background and Approach
My main therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Artistic Expressive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as I believe that there is so much power in becoming more aware of how your thoughts influence your mood and behavior, and how using skills such as mindfulness and creative projects can open up channels toward your healing. I also incorporate holistic counseling and solution based therapy among other treatment approaches and tailor my approach to fit your personality and personal goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQ community and a long-standing volunteer at a suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ youth. Even before I began counseling, I was an advocate for everyone to have greater access to mental health services, which is why I have chosen to solely focus on online therapy during this time of quarantine and limited access to others. I also consider myself a curious creative because I am always open to learning new things and sharing with others.
