About My Clients

Should it be anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships issues, or grief, my goal is to assist you in gaining clarity, build resilience, and improve overall well-being as we navigate and explore life's stressors together. I hope to provide a safe and supportive environment, with a sense of curiosity about your lived experiences so that we can confront these challenges head on and provide you with the tools and support you need to overcome life's many stressors.

My Background and Approach

I have experience in working with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship stress, and behavioral challenges. From my experience in working with these issues, I have gained the firm belief that you get out of therapy what you put into it. Additionally, I have been trained to see the client in a very humanistic, and person-centered manner. You are the expert in your own personal life, and I will come to our sessions with a sense of cultural humility as we work collaboratively to tackle the stressors and challenges that you are facing. My goal is for you to have mindfulness techniques in your toolbox to carry with you in times of need outside of our sessions. Though I am a licensed professional counselor, I am actively working on receiving more intensive training to better meet the needs that you will present in our sessions, which training is designed to ensure you receive the quality care that you deserve. Ultimately, my goal is for you to develop resiliency to life's stressors.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I firmly believe that people have the capacity to change and grow at any point in their lives. Much of this change and growth can be accomplished through finding meaning and purpose to our lives, as we strive to achieve goals that will bring about personal satisfaction in our lives as well as a stronger sense of identity. I believe many of life's struggles stem from feelings of being disengaged from one's self. I believe the more someone is in touch with who they are and the kind of person they can strive to be, the more likely they are to find meaning in their life. I carry in my heart always the words of Tolkien, who reminds us that though we wish we didn't have to live through so much heartaches and stress writes, "so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
