About My Clients
I predominantly work with adolescents, adults and couples on a variety of issues. Some things that stand out are helping clients work though anxiety, feelings of shame, developing better communication skills, trauma and various somatic (body) issues. I enjoy working with clients who are curious about themselves and willing to work near their growth edge to support positive change.
My Background and Approach
Using a body-oriented, mindfulness and relational approach to therapy, I help my clients foster a sense of curiosity and compassion for whatever surfaces through the work. Safety is super important to feel in the therapy room, but that doesn't mean it should always feel comfortable. In fact, if it feels too comfortable, we aren't really doing much. We might use breathing exercises, movement, visualization, Brainspotting or traditional talk therapy to attend to the wound or to shift the behavior that you no longer want. I find creativity and levity to be huge allies in this work- we don't need to relive the pain in order to relieve the pain. I enjoy collaborating with clients on their goals and feel it's important to regularly check in on progress, reminding us that the ultimate goal of therapy is to help you grow into a place to a place where you no longer need therapy.
