About My Clients
Looking from the outside, it seems life is going well but something isn’t right. You’re on your own for the 1st time, but have no idea what comes next. You’ve spent the last 18 years raising children and now question your changing role. You’ve retired and need to find your new purpose. Let me help you around the rough patches that change brings. For new social workers, seeking supervision, I will mentor and nurture your professional growth to help you create a thriving, rewarding career.
My Background and Approach
People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Are you struggling with major changes that are impacting your daily life? Have you been wondering about your life purpose? Are you feeling unfulfilled? Do you wish to get unstuck in your life or career? Perhaps you do not know what is bothering you but your know that you need someone to talk to. Therapy can be a space to develop a healthy healing relationship where you can feel comfortable exploring the past, make meaning of the present, and work towards building a hopeful future. I have a holistic approach to therapy that touches on all parts of your life from school and work concerns to interpersonal relationships and how your past experiences inform your current behaviors. I will help you make life choices that will lead you in the direction you want your life to move.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Because every client is unique, and one size never fits all in therapeutic models, I use a holistic model of therapy that draws from a variety of theoretical frameworks, depending on the needs of the client in front of me. The theory I’m most drawn to is Systems, as clients don’t exist in a vacuum, and neither do their problems. With most clients in my private practice, I try to incorporate mindfulness into their treatment plan because it draws on the inner resilience innate in most people. I also believe that most people know what they need to heal so, I look at all clients from a strengths based perspective.
