About My Clients
Life is not always what we had hoped, planned, and dreamed of. Are you looking to live your optimal life with set of cards you have been handed? Much about life is about the choices we make, not only about the circumstances that happen to us. Yet, we are not born with a personalized manual for our lives, or having mastery at connecting our thoughts and feelings to help us decide what is best. I'm honored to offer you a supportive and respectful relationship to help you in your journey.
My Background and Approach
My background? Unique in every extent of the word. I've always been able to experience living as a member of a minority group, whether that has been for culture, ethnic, language, social, or religion, other. Although these have been challenging at times, they've also given me the capacity to understand what another's experience may be like, and more importantly, do so with compassion. Professionally, it's been an honor to be able to achieve the career I wanted: psychotherapist. I graduated with a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara Univ. Much of my career has been working with individuals and families. My specialties include trauma, life transitions, and eating disorders. The psychoanalytic theory that most resonates with me is Jungian. I believe that when internal or external factors create an unbalance in our lives -when we're "thrown off" by life circumstances, we naturally attempt to bring balance back into our lives, but sometimes we need help through the process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am always amazed by the human capacity to persevere and overcome, as well as the capacity to bear what sometimes we cannot even verbalize. Seeking therapy when faced with challenges in our lives, or just seeking clarity, is as empowering, as it is humbling to be able to be here to serve you through your vulnerabilities.
