About My Clients
You may look capable on the outside while feeling anxious, exhausted, scattered, or stuck inside. You may be navigating ADHD, perfectionism, grief, relationship stress, parenting, college, career changes, illness, or a season that no longer fits. Clients want more than a place to vent. They want to understand themselves, feel less alone, and leave therapy with practical ways to move forward. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We can figure that out together.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider with 20 years of experience helping adolescents, adults, couples, college students, and athletes. I founded Thrive for Life Counseling in 2016 and provide virtual therapy designed to feel personal, connected, and useful. My style is warm, conversational, direct, and collaborative. I listen carefully, ask questions, notice patterns, and help you turn insight into meaningful change. I draw from cognitive behavioral, strengths based, solution focused, trauma informed, and systems approaches, adapting our work to the person in front of me rather than forcing you into a formula. Humor is welcome here, too. Clients often appreciate that I balance compassion with practical guidance. I will validate what is hard while helping you identify what is within your control. When requested, I can thoughtfully incorporate Christian faith into therapy. Your values, goals, pace, and preferences will guide our work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make the most meaningful changes when they feel safe, understood, and respected, not judged or rushed. Therapy should honor the complexity of your story while helping you build a life that feels more manageable, connected, and authentic. I value honesty, compassion, curiosity, humor, personal responsibility, and grace. I believe two things can be true at once: you can be grateful and hurting, strong and tired, hopeful and afraid. You do not have to minimize one part of your experience to make room for another. Outside of my work, I value time with my family, animals, travel, and the small moments that make a full life meaningful. I also understand that life does not pause neatly when grief, health concerns, parenting demands, or unexpected transitions arrive. I bring that humanity into the therapy room. You can expect me to show up as a real person who will take you seriously, care about your progress, and occasionally laugh with you along the way.
