About My Clients
I've seen the effects of bullying, of substance abuse, and other forms of trauma. I've seen the long term effects of what being ostracized in school has done, and how it affects the patterns of relationships in the person's adult life. My clients come to me for acceptance, understanding and empathy, as well as the establishment of healthy boundaries - both internally and externally. I have been licensed as a counselor since 2005 and as an alcohol and drug counselor since 2016
My Background and Approach
I am trained in EMDR, TF-CBT, and DBT therapies. These are therapy modalities that help you, the client make sense of trauma, anxiety, and the gray areas that life has. I have seen where this is often the real crux of many mental health concerns. While this site does not allow for dual licensing, I am also licensed as an LCADC in New Jersey, and have been able to help many substance users find meaningful, healthy and productive lives in their communities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a self-professed "dork" (or is it nerd these days?). I will make cheesy sci-fi references, pop culture references, and the like.
