About My Clients
My approach to therapy is relational - I help you to uncover your innate strengths and resources and to become more connected and authentic in your relationship to yourself and others. Most clients I work with have trauma in their childhoods, which includes childhood emotional neglect. I also love working with therapists (and other healers) who are looking for their own personal therapy. Taking the first step to reach out to a therapist can feel daunting, and I commend you for your courage.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work from a trauma-informed perspective and I am trained in EMDR, which is an integrative model for processing and resolving traumatic memories. My approach is relational, and I strive to provide an attuned, empathic, non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic environment which is the basis for all healing. As you feel truly seen and understood, you become more authentic and connected with yourself and others, which empowers you to cultivate more self-trust and self-compassion, and motivates you to take responsibility for your life and happiness and to make the changes needed for a more fulfilling life. My areas of focus include PTSD, childhood abuse, childhood emotional neglect, depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, problems of acculturation, and therapy for therapists.
