I've spent the past two years working with school-age children and their families to resolve conflict and teach parenting skills and behavior modification to parents. I've also worked one-on-one with children ages 5 to 13 (mostly) to treat issues from suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders including trauma and attachment issues.

Working with parents to develop a behavior plan is one of my specialties. I've worked for a long time with adults and children I was trained in positive behavior support and worked side-by-side with certified behavior analysts. Developing a behavior plan can take some time and a lot of hard work but the results can be amazing.

What can I say about anxiety that you don't already know? In today's world stress, fear, anxiety, and social difficulties seem to be everywhere and affecting everyone. We can work on learning to meditate, be more mindful, learn coping skills, self-care, and think about things differently so you'll have the tools to deal with whatever comes your way.

Let's be honest - the most important factor in successful therapy is the client-therapist relationship. Most of us learn many methods of therapy approaches and theories and pull from that toolbox. Mindfulness is one of the methods I believe in and is very helpful for most of us suffering with anxiety and stress related disorders. We'll determine what works for you and put those into practice.

As I've said before, it's the therapist-client relationship that matters most and we all learn our different methods and approaches. A good therapist listens and responds or asks questions when the answers might be useful in making progress. Having said that, I believe most therapists use an Eclectic style of therapy, pulling from their favorite and most relevant theories to help client's progress.

The old workhorse of CBT. I enjoy using cognitive therapy - helping clients see things differently, understand the roots of their emotional issues and what triggers those reactions and responses and learning to change how we respond and react to things through this process. I'm also trained, not certified, in Trauma-Focused CBT among other methods I've read up on and attended trainings about.
