About My Clients
My ideal client would be a person who is motivated to work collaboratively with me and who has confidence that they can make incredible positive changes through the counseling process. I specialize in addressing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss, ADHD, learning disabilities, stuttering, addictions, and sexual and physical abuse.
My Background and Approach
I am a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been providing counseling services through my private practice for over 25 years. I received my first master’s degree in School Psychology from SUNY College at Oswego and went on to complete a second master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. I consider myself down to earth, genuine, non-judgemental, and empathetic to my clients. I find it very important to earn strong trust from my clients and to help them feel comfortable throughout the counseling process. I am a “good listening ear” when my clients simply want to vent and to be understood, while I am also there to help my clients generate ideas and options when they are in need of taking action. I also find it important to help direct conversations with my clients to ensure that they thoroughly process and resolve their most pressing issues of concern.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am non-judgemental and accept my clients just as they are. I respect individuals for their uniqueness and encourage my clients to be proud of their differences from others. I very much enjoy and work well with diverse populations, including individuals of color and individuals from the LGBTQIA+ Community.
