About My Clients

Want to walk through life as your most authentic self? I will help you across this journey by instilling hope, empowerment, resilience, and self-compassion in the midst of adversity or discrimination. We all deserve to present as our true self, however, finding the strength may be difficult. My hope is to bring forth your bravery to live your most authentic life yet where mind, body, and gender align.

My Background and Approach

As a master's level graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I have experience working in a college setting, in-home community agency , and private practice. In 2021, I completed a 56-hour credentialing program to become a Transgender Care Therapist to ensure that I was providing ethical and responsible counseling to trans, GNC, or non-binary clients. I follow the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care, version 7, and adhere to the Informed Consent Model in an effort to reduce gatekeeping and support each client in their right to make informed decisions about gender, sexuality, sex, and relationships. I was a guest on KLFY's Passe Partout news program to advocate for the benefits of counseling, mental health awareness, and inclusivity as a Transgender Care Therapist.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a LGBTQIA2s+ allied Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I began hearing accounts of client mistreatment and harm done by counselors untrained in gender identity issues through refusal to use pronouns, misgendering, and denial of transgender rights in the practice setting. I believe trans rights are human rights. One way to end stigma, discrimination, and maltreatment of trans folx is by advocating and educating the public and professionals about trans rights/issues. I have participated in public forums, such as "Beginning the Conversation" where I spoke on the topic "Inclusivity: A Conversation about Gender" exploring the intersectionality of gender, sex, sexuality, and attraction as well as introductions, asking for/using respected pronouns/name, apologizing when misgendering, and how to interact with biased or judgmental persons. I attended the Wellness Panel at the Lafayette Pride Festival in 2022 to spread awareness about counseling services.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
