About My Clients

Your life is not turning out the way you thought it would. Even though you are able to take care of every day responsibilities, something feels off. Maybe you had envisioned that your life would be different - more peace, less stress. And maybe you wonder if it’s even possible to lead the life you had hoped for considering current events (like a pandemic!). Anyways, creating a new direction would require change and change can feel overwhelming and scary. You want to talk with someone caring a

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A12901) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (#628022). I earned a BA in Sociology from George Mason University, a Master of Arts in Education from Union University, and a Master of Education in Counseling from North Carolina State University. I hold a Professional Educator License as a School Counselor issued by the State of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (#1186979) and worked as a school counselor in Wake County Public Schools before transitioning to clinical work. As a native Spanish speaker, I provide therapeutic services in both Spanish and English. My particular areas of interest and experience are in individual growth, anxiety, depression, coping skills, parenting best practices, teen/parent relationship issues, child and teen behavioral issues, trauma, cultural identity, and life transitions. I enjoy working with children (7+), teens, and adults.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy offers a refuge, allowing for healing during times of transition and crisis. My goal is to create a collaborative environment with my clients where they can pursue positive coping skills, healthy choices, and meaningful insights. My counseling style is integrative and flexible, based on each client’s individual needs and strengths. These days, when I am not working, I am spending time outside with my rescue puppy, Dolly, listening to my favorite podcasts, or facetiming with my adult children, each of whom lives out of state!
