- Medication Management
My hope is to sit with each client as they face life and communicate “I am here and I am with you.”
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Atlanta, GA
I work with women ages 20-40s in areas such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, relationship issues, singleness, stress in ministry and spirituality issues. By providing them a safe, empathetic place to process, I hope to come alongside each clients as they process pain and gain awareness about themselves. During this process I hope to help clients gain tools and awareness to approach life's struggles and find deep heal. I don't want to just solve problems but help them really heal.
I am training in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy to help client rebuild their trust and establish connection. By helping clients process and regain trust my hope is to help each couple find each other again. It is a process and can take time but there is hope to rebuild the relationship. Once trust is building I also help clients find where they get stuck in their own pattern and reduce the distress and learn new tools to connect together. I believe relationships can heal and be whole again.
I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety in their life and relationships. Through a combination of trainings in anxiety tools and attachment, or relationship connection, my hope is to equip each client to reduce their anxiety by helping them understand their anxiety to gain awareness before using tools to help reduce it. We can't fix what we don't know is the problem! The hope is healing and wholeness in the end with the right awareness and tools unique for each individual.
I am trained in Gottman Level 1 & 2 as well as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) Externship and Core Skills 1. I also utilized Prepare Enrich in my work with premarital couples. With each couple I seek to truly understand where they are coming from and then work with them to find the places they are stuck. My hope is to help each couple find new ways of communicating and connecting that helps them get unstuck by recognizing and changing that cycle.
Attachment theory is one of the main ways I work with clients. I believe our attachments to our caregiver significantly affects the way we view the world and relationships as an adult which can result in a secure or insecure attachment. As a therapist I help clients heal insecure attachments by providing a secure place for them to connect and grow they they never received as a result. The counseling relationship is one of the most important aspects in my work with each client.
I am trained in providing EMDR which is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. This treatment is usually used for trauma but can be utilized for anyone who is struggling with a negative belief that seems to cause distress. EMDR is used to reprocess events that have contributed to the negative beliefs about themselves so that they no longer cause distress and are desensitized. I am currently in the process of being fully certified in EMDR.
