About My Clients
I work primarily with adult individuals experiencing issues with anxiety/depression, substance use, grief, attachment, relational trauma, complex trauma, family of origin, life transitions, work/life balance, motivation/purpose, and spirituality.
My Background and Approach
My approach is integrative, person-centered, and rooted in mindfulness. I believe that YOU are the authority on your unique experience and that positive change can begin with a healthy connection in the context of a compassionate & collaborative relationship (between counselor and client). This is a space for you to feel safe, supported, and heard. I am also a big fan of teaching myself out of a job. I want you to develop the self-understanding and coping skills necessary to maintain your mental health & wellbeing AND ALSO the discernment to know when you may need some extra support to get through life’s trials. I see a therapist regularly and I know its tough out there, so stay committed to finding the right fit for you. I understand well the difficulties of getting started and what a barrier the financial piece can be for many folks. While I am unable take insurance payments at this time, I offer rates below the average cost per session (in Tx) and a sliding scale for those in need.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come to you openly human. I am a recovering perfectionist, people pleaser, party-girl with a base of GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). I believe we all have our "things" in life, and while they may not be our fault and sometimes things just "happen" to us, we are the only one's with the power to change how we heal, grow, or move forward. It's often the dysfunctional cycles we create in order to deal with life's challenges that end up getting in our way. I'm here to help with that. I am a 200hr registered yoga teacher in addition to being a licensed professional counselor associate. I am also a loving partner and proud cat, dog, & plant mama. I love laughing, walking, reading/writing, thrifting, rollerskating, music & film! I highly value connection, compassion, and mindfulness. I’ve learned over the years, I personally need intentional movement & breath, connection to nature, and self-expression with regularity to feel safe & content
