Challenging emotions? Difficulty in important relationships? You're here because you dare to believe things can be different, better even. I have confidence that you have it within you to create a new and fulfilling way of living and relating to others in the healthiest and most authentic way possible. Courageously examine your concerns and issues (e.g., relationships, behavioral patterns/habits, thinking patterns, difficult emotions, fears, etc.) in a safe and caring environment.
My Background and Approach
I care deeply about connecting with people and helping them connect with themselves. I have extensive experience working with adults, couples and families as well as at-risk youth and teens. I am passionate about working with couples and have training certifications in Gottman levels 1 and 2 and Prepare-Enrich facilitation. My strength as a couples therapist is assisting both parties to see each other’s points of view without negating the experience of either person.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the innate value and worth in each individual and in meeting a person where they are, esteeming them for exactly who they are. I am LGBTQIA affirmative and am passionate about equal rights for all. I believe that growing up in toxic environments being pushed down by broken and oppressive social systems leads to difficulty seeing ourselves clearly, similar to looking at one’s self in a mirror in a fun-house where self-image is distorted. As therapist I hope to help hold up a “mirror” that helps clients see themselves accurately and clearly in order to live an authentic and healthy life.
