About My Clients
I work with people who are open to transformation; who know the seed of goodness in their hearts, and are determined to allow it to bloom in this lifetime. I work with those who are ready to move towards their dreams with fierce and tender courage, not only for themselves, but for their families and communities.
My Background and Approach
I am a UCLA-trained clinical psychologist and pursued postdoctoral training at Stanford University and UCSF. I bring a variety of modalities and ideas into my work, including Buddhism, Daoism, and Indigenous teachings. I believe in the power of the intuition— of the earth of the body— in allowing people to unlock their deepest knowing. I see how systemic oppression impacts our ways of being and work with clients to live into their wholeness, purpose, belonging, and dignity. I have particular interest and expertise in working with people grappling with life transitions, relationship/interpersonal difficulties, cultural divides, communication problems, family/intergenerational conflict, anxiety, depression, shame, and those seeking greater purpose/meaning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My healing journey began in college through the doorway of therapy. As someone who has a rich and powerful emotional life, it was a relief to have support in putting my experience into words and narratives, rather than simply swallowing the ones handed to me given the identities I hold. Since then, my experience of healing has broadened to include collective liberation. Freedom at its core is about connection— the capacity to live with 心 胸 寬 大 (xīn xiōng kuān dà), with a big heart, a vast heart that includes loving our human and nonhuman family, known and unknown.
