There is nothing more painful than the death of a loved one. Taking a first step to engage in therapy could be a difficult decision. If you are here, it means that you have decided to take a step towards your healing. Grief is not only the loss of a loved one, but may also be a life changing event such as the end of a relationship, a change in living conditions, etc. Losses can be both sudden and predictable. Grieving can be overwhelming and isolating. Find in our sessions a safe space to heal.

My Background and Approach

I am a bilingual (Spanish is my first language) LCMHC in NC. I received a B.A. in Psychology from The Ohio State University. I then completed an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2017. I have worked as an outpatient therapist where I have been able to gain knowledge and experience in treating a wide range of mental health disorders. I provide a safe environment for individuals who are dealing with grief, life transitions, anxiety and depression by providing support and helping them to develop coping skills to manage their symptoms. I have received extensive training in grief counseling and became a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. I utilize an eclectic approach to meet and adapt to the individual’s needs utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Holistic Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness. Expressive Arts and Play Therapy techniques are also utilized to assist in identifying and communicating emotions when needed.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I decided to become a counselor at a very young age after the death of a loved one. I struggled communicating my emotions and understanding my grief, and I knew that I was not the only one struggling with this. As a part of my Masters program, I was selected to intern at a bereavement center in Texas where I have gained most of my experience in treating grief. There, I learned how powerful and life transforming it is to be able to understand, communicate, and express grief not only through words, but also through play and art. This experience was what inspired me to specialize in providing support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and to become a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. My goal is to provide a warm and safe environment and the support needed to navigate this very difficult time. I want to help you understand your emotions and the depth of your grief. Don’t go through this process alone. I am here to help.
