About My Clients
You want to live an authentic life but feel pressured to keep up with what others are doing. You’re someone who struggles with saying no and tend to seek approval and acceptance from others. You may frequently worry about things that “could happen” or the “what ifs” of what could go wrong. Maybe you feel easily overwhelmed by loud noise, crowds of people, bright lights, and need time alone to recover. You’re stuck between choosing what feels right to you versus what others want.
My Background and Approach
I've been working in the mental health field for over 8 years and have extensive experience and training in diverse counseling settings including K-12 school settings, crisis hotlines, outpatient community clinics, and EAP telehealth companies. I specialize in supporting women struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or high sensitivity to embrace their whole self with compassion and acceptance by using CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches. My goal is to help you tune into your innermost needs and show up for yourself in ways you never have before! We’ll work together to identify goals and changes you want to experience from this process and I'll help you get there by using a variety of proven techniques. Our sessions can be a mixture of discussing recent life events, processing past experiences, and learning new skills to apply to your present life. I’ll mix in some light humor so those hard conversations will feel less heavy too!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life feels best when we prioritize taking care of ourselves. As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand firsthand the struggles that women who feel deeply encounter. I live it myself on a daily basis! I’ve also been in the client chair and know how difficult it is to be vulnerable with a therapist who just doesn’t seem to “get it.” In our sessions, you won’t just get a trained therapist, you’ll get someone who truly understands what you are going through. You may have talked to other therapists (or friends) who didn’t understand your sensitivity or who you felt judged by. I offer a safe space free of judgment and full of empathy. Your sensitivity is not a flaw, it’s a beautiful thing and it’s welcome here. Ready to stop living for others and start living for you?
