About My Clients

My approach anchored in somatic awareness is especially effective for those who are curious and committed to exploring maladaptive patterns in their life choices and their relationships. I assist adults to deepen their coping with overwhelming emotions, complex trauma, anxiety, codependence, abusive family systems and spiritual inquiries. I help couples learn conflict resolution skills, attunement, emotional intimacy and explore commitment agreements including separating respectfully.

My Background and Approach

I explore the whole person: physiologically, psychically, behaviorally, and spiritually by observing, tracking, interacting. I directly support you to repair your story using body, mind and spirit in the present. In this integrative approach, awareness develops, regulation is experienced, new neural pathways are made for a different experience going forward. This form of Body Orientated psychotherapy can use various modalities to access the physical body in relation to psyche and emotions. Sensory awareness while in a chair, on the floor or on a bodywork table, breath work, movement practices, yoga asanas, mindfulness, led meditation, level I teachings of iRest Yoga Nidra® and gesturing are a few of the specific techniques I utilize when appropriate for the client. I also incorporate my professional and trained experience with Somatic Experiencing with Kathy Kain and Stephen J. Terrell, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, Gestalt, Attachment theory, and Yoga.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am in the business of growth and change. I believe we must explore the whole person, including our younger parts and where we are in life - physiologically, psychically, behaviorally, and spiritually - before we can decide where we're going. I do this by observing, tracking and interacting with your physical and energetic subtle being. When using the body (soma) and "spirit" in the present moment, self awareness develops, regulation is experienced and truths are often revealed more readily than just via our verbal mind. Where traditional talk therapy can sometimes only get us so far, my approach attempts to repair the preverbal, the wiring in the brain and nervous system that didn't get to develop to their fullest potential early on. In other realms, I am a long time yoga practitioner, meditator, animal lover and witty spiritual being.
