About My Clients
I focus my work around issues regarding LGBTQ+, sexuality, gender identity and nonconformity, non-binary and transgender, complex relationships, power dynamics, sexual health, BDSM/Kink, and other alternative lifestyles. My clients typically fall into at least one of these categories and are highly motivated to engage in the therapeutic process. I do not see children or adolescents, nor do I offer family therapy sessions.
My Background and Approach
I have been working in mental health for 15+ years in a variety of settings and with different types of populations. I hold a dual Masters degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and Mental Health Counseling which allows me to breakaway from conventional talk therapy and insert creativity into my practice. There is no singular method/theory in counseling that works for all and I cater sessions to meet individual needs. I have a tendency to use aspects of nonviolent communication and feminist theories in my work to help better relationships and empower those within them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as Queer and prefer they/them pronouns. I believe that a healthy body contributes to a healthy mind and promote body positivity and sexual health practices. I meditate daily and am happy to share the benefits I receive. I consider myself to be an anarchist in its simplest forms. Identifying how Power, Privilege, and Oppression creates a charged ripple effect in every system and learning/unlearning ways to create change is an everyday process in my life. Black Lives have ALWAYS mattered to me, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. I want to help give individuals the tools for self care and the ability to process their thoughts without judgement because I believe that creativity and destruction are one-in the same. I encourage and support evolution and change. I love fiercely and generally want humans to do better. If the system isn't broke, break it.
