About My Clients
Folks I work with want their pain to stop. They see old patterns playing out in their current lives, and know that the stress or trauma of their past continues to pop up in their daily life. Sometimes past memories play over and over in their thoughts or even in their dreams. My clients often don't feel safe with others, or like anyone is worthy of trust. They feel disconnected, and need someone who understands what they have been through.
My Background and Approach
I believe one of the biggest factors in healing comes from having a safe, nurturing, and compassionate relationship with someone who can bear witness to your pain, and help you to relieve it. Our healing relationship is always my greatest priority. You will find that I am a warm and caring therapist who will act as a guide as w e discover the path to your healing. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I am trained in a variety of treatment modalities so I can craft treatment towards your unique needs. I believe both emotional and physical safety are of the upmost importance when engaging in trauma work. We will work together to build resources, supports, coping skills, and insight that will help you to heal the distress you feel and improve your quality of life. I emphasize safety, respect, and connection throughout our time together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent value and worth of every human. I believe that we all deserve love, compassion, and respect. I understand that there are many things that impact our emotional health and well-being so I take both a trauma and social justice informed approach to healing. Not only do I consider your personal experience, but what life is like for you in our current society. Oppression and marginalization play a major factor in our ability to be healthy and well, and cannot be ignored in the healing journey.
