My Background and Approach
I work from a trauma-informed postmodern approach to counseling with an emphasis on systems and relationships. Using a mix of strengths based, client-centered frameworks I focus on creating a counseling space built on safety and authenticity while also taking into consideration social contexts. When coming to therapy you will be met with warmth, non-judgement, and open-mindedness. Often times sessions can go beyond traditional talk therapy since I use my art background to introduce creative and expressive techniques like narrative and art therapy. I also pull from a holistic view on mental wellness and work with the mind-body connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
This field had been calling to me for years after my own positive experiences with seeking mental health counseling. For as long as I can remember, I have been moving naturally and freely in creative and healing spaces, so this has felt like a welcome professional transition. I feel honored to help others achieve an overall wellbeing by supporting their mental health. I am passionate about BIPOC or marginalized communities and those that are a part of the gender expansive family. I believe in holistic therapeutic processes and a culturally considerate approach.
