About My Clients
When working with my clients, I use a collaborative approach- as I believe each person is the expert on their own lives. I treat each person with dignity and respect and I always start where the client is. My goal is to build rapport with the client and have them feel comfortable with me so we can work together on the aspects of their life they would like to address.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in south Florida and I am driven and passionate about helping others. I studied this field because I always felt that my purpose was to help others realize their potential and help them improve their lives. I have experience working with a wide range of different populations- from cancer patients coping with end of life to facilitating psychoeducational groups to individuals with developmental disabilities. I am an advocate for equal rights and am very passionate about this as well. I have had several wonderful volunteer opportunities which has expanded my experience and have solidified my love for helping others even more. Some of these include working with women in the prison system and utilizing a strengths based approach to help them reach their goals of establishing a business plan as part of the Ladies Empowerment in Action program. I have also participated in the annual Pride parade in Miami Beach, FL.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have experience in providing CBT, empowerment based approach, crisis intervention, task centered practice. I don’t just stick to one specific type of model or intervention- rather, I tailor every aspect of therapy to fit and address your specific needs. I ensure that my clients leave our sessions with concrete tools they can utilize in their daily lives to address the concerns they have. Talking and sharing is an important aspect of therapy, but I believe it is also important to leave you with these tools so we can work together and help you reach your goals.
