My Background and Approach
My goal in therapy is more than giving you therapy tools. I also want you and your partner to know how to use the tools even during the tough, scary moments. These are the hardest moments to use tools because we tend to go back to our gut responses. This is why insight alone doesn't create change--otherwise, after reading one book, we'd all be well on our way without therapy. Long-lasting relationship change is about experiencing successful moments of vulnerability & healing with your partner. Moments where you can turn towards them and share what's on your heart, and they see you and they accept you. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my practice because it works. A well-researched model, studies have shown that EFT helps 70-75% of couples become fully recovered, and over 90% report significant improvement. EFT is empirically verified to be the most successful of all the couples therapies over the longest time period.
