About My Clients

I specialize in working with clients ages preteens to adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and grief. I'm committed to working with clients from a variety of backgrounds who are looking for a gentle, collaborative approach to therapy. I value providing care that is trauma informed, facilitates healthy relationship dynamics, and is LGBTQ+ affirming.

My Background and Approach

Navigating life's challenges doesn't have to be done alone. Finding a therapist who fits you can create a supportive therapeutic alliance towards empowerment, resilience, and developing effective strategies. My approach is eclectic with a collaborative client-centered framework and utilizes Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed, Attachment-informed, and trauma-focused therapeutic approaches to meet her clients’ needs. I have experience and additional training working trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, LGBTQ+ affirming, relationships, and grief.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal thoughts and beliefs on mental health challenges involves understanding that we all live complex lives in a world with systemic issues. I think the majority of mental health challenges comes from a lack of opportunities to learn effective skills for being a human, such as coping skills, executive functioning skills, communication skills, building healthy relationship dynamics. Wouldn't have been nice to have had an emotions 101 or habit building 101 class in grade school to start to learn the basics of how we, as people, function? I also believe in being supportive, accepting and compassionate to our fellow human and is something I have personal experiences in. I make sure my therapeutic approaches are nuanced and knowledgeable towards issues plaguing racial inequality and LGBTQ+ rights because I myself am a Mexican American, a first generation, and bisexual.
