About My Clients
I specialize in working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and relationship/family issues. I view the client/therapist relationship as an equal one - you are the expert on you, I am here to help guide you, give you support, and lead you to your strengths.
My Background and Approach
The most important indicator to whether or not a client will find benefit in therapy sessions is if they have a positive relationship with their therapist and feel comfortable in their time together. I help my clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We look at what is causing their stress or difficulty and how they can start to feel better. I also help my clients develop coping skills and strategies for managing their emotions. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience working in the mental health field. During my formal education I was clinically trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Over the span of my career I have also been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and most recently EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I find that most clients appreciate a blended approach in therapy so that we can tailor our sessions to their needs at the moment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for my clients to explore their issues and work towards achieving their goals. I am passionate about working with people to help them reach their full potential and live more fulfilling lives.
