About My Clients
You may feel like you’ve tried everything and still haven’t found relief. That takes a toll. My specialty as a health psychologist focused on pain management is to help people manage the frustration, sadness, exhaustion, and grief that come along with chronic pain. When it comes to managing pain, having a therapist who specializes in pain matters.
My Background and Approach
There are two ways to work with me: 1. Individual psychology appointments ($175 per session) 2. Comprehensive Pain Program: Through Override (www.override.health), I work with care teams that consist of myself, a pain physician, a pain-trained physical therapist, and a certified pain management coach. Override’s clinicians work individually with patients and together as a team to deliver a comprehensive care experience for people with chronic pain. Free consultations for the program and discounted monthly packages are available for this program.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I completed my clinical internship at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System and postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, where I gained experience in treating patients with chronic pain, chronic illness, and stress, and sleep disorders. My expertise in pain neuroscience principles allows me to work with my clients to make functional and behavioral changes in line with the scientific research on how to reverse pain neural pathways and train the nervous system to break the cycle of pain. My therapeutic approach draws on a range of psychological, cognitive, and behavioral treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), pain neuroscience education (PNE), and mindfulness-based interventions. I empower my clients to regain control from pain – both emotionally and physically – and improve their quality of life.
