About My Clients
I’ve had the privilege of working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities, and I’m especially passionate about supporting folks navigating intergenerational trauma and identity development. I bring cultural humility, warmth, and a strong commitment to creating an affirming space for clients who may not always feel represented in traditional mental health settings.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-focused work, family systems, and relational-cultural theory. I value working relationally and contextually—helping clients explore how their identities, relationships, and lived experiences shape who they are and how they heal. During my internship at the YWCA of Greater Austin, I received comprehensive training in family systems and gained a deeper understanding of how societal factors influence individual mental health. My master’s program at Walden University further emphasized the impact of systemic oppression on the lives of many clients, highlighting the importance of incorporating this awareness into clinical practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that individuals are not defined by their trauma or hardships. Instead, I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative space for healing—one where we work together to understand and transform the patterns that have brought a person to where they are today. One of my key strengths is my deep awareness of systemic oppression and its impact on mental health. I am committed to continuously educating myself on the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of my clients, ensuring that my approach is culturally responsive and rooted in social justice. I bring strong emotional intelligence to my clinical work. I prioritize building authentic, trusting relationships with clients by respecting their boundaries and honoring their individual pace in the therapeutic process.
