Accepting Clients

Hello! My name is Valeria, and I look forward to connecting with you.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in Austin, TX
Supervised by Eva Escobedo, LPC-S

About My Clients

I’ve had the privilege of working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and immigrant communities, and I’m especially passionate about supporting folks navigating intergenerational trauma and identity development. I bring cultural humility, warmth, and a strong commitment to creating an affirming space for clients who may not always feel represented in traditional mental health settings.

My Background and Approach

People are not their traumas or hardships. No one is purely defined by their struggles. We are complex beings capable of so much when we believe in our abilities. With me, therapy is a place to turn the specific adversities life has handed you into a foundation for healing. Our relationship is the vessel for taking the journey together. The connection we will share is supported by trust, honoring your emotional boundaries while encouraging you toward your goals at a pace that is right for you. We will work together to understand and transform the pathways that have brought you to where they are today so that they move you ever closer to an empowered life. One of my personal strengths as a therapist is my deep awareness of systemic oppression and how it impacts our mental health. I am committed to growing my understanding of your lived experiences and to ensuring I am able to be responsive, holistic, and effective as your therapist!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In sessions, I'm compassionate and conversational. I meet you where you're at and show up as authentically as I can. I'm both directive and laid-back depending on what a session calls for, and I'm known for using humor when it feels appropriate, along with offering psychoeducation when it's helpful. I bring in tools from Somatic Experiencing, Parts Work, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Compassionate Inquiry to help you feel more grounded, safe, and connected to you body. I am passionate about connecting with individuals and helping them through life’s challenges by rediscovering joy and meaning in everyday life. Above all, I bring cultural humility, warmth, and a strong commitment to creating an affirming space for clients who may not always feel represented in traditional mental health settings. Together, we will build skills, resilience, and knowledge about finding greater balance and fulfillment.
